California is going through a budget "crises" again, California loses out on billions of dollars of untapped tax revenue because their number 1 cash crop is illegal. The federal government loses out on billions of dollars in taxes, while spending billions of dollars to enforce laws that punnish users. Remember after 911 when the ad council made commercials that said buying marijuana funds terrorism? Well, if you take that activity off the black market the terrorists won't be able to funnel the money from it; they would almost have to focus exclusively on oil for their revenue.
